Will you come see my baby in the hospital?
Yes, we have privileges at both Memorial Hospital in South Bend and St Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. We will see your baby in the hospital every 24 hrs until you are discharged to go home.
With which hospitals are you affiliated?
We go to both Memorial Hospital in South Bend and St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka.
What will happen during a regular office visit?
At each visit, we will examine your child, evaluate growth and development, provide immunizations as recommended by American Academy of Pediatrics, provide age specific guidance on nutrition, safety, sleeping, social behaviors and what to expect as your child grows. Of course, if there is a specific health concern, we devote as much time as needed to address that issue.
How soon can I get an appointment when my child is sick?
We will see a sick child the same day you call for the appointment. If it is a medical emergency please call 911 or go to your local emergency department.
What if I have a non-urgent questions?
You can call our office during normal business hours at 574-271-7337 and speak to the nurse or doctor. If they are not immediately available you may leave a message with our front desk and we will return your call the same day.
What is your view of breastfeeding?
Breastfeeding is the best nutrition for your infant. There are almost 100 different nutrients in breastmilk that is not available in the infant formulas. Scientific studies shows that breastfed babies are healthier and are more intelligent than formula fed infants. Breastfeeding protects your child against many diseases including infections, diabetes, asthma and cancer.
How long do you recommend breastfeeding?
We recommend continuing breastfeeding at least until 15 months of age.
Do you give all immunization that are recommended?
Yes, we administer all the immunizations (aka vaccinations) currently recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics; these immunizations have been proven safe and effective. When a new vaccine is introduced, the AAP carefully reviews the benefits and efficacy before offering it to patients. And so do we.

When should I schedule our first appointment?
Once you leave the hospital contact our office to schedule your first appointment. This should be within 2-3 days of your discharge date. You can reach our office at 574-271-7337 to set up a time that is convenient for you.
